We follow national care standards for all internal medicine and preventive health issues, including areas such as:
The staff at SPSIM is friendly, knowledgeable, professional and caring. They will be happy to help and support our patients any time.
For your convenience, we make every attempt to have a person answer all calls to the clinic within 1-3 rings. Medical phone calls will be routed to a triage nurse to be assessed. If a call back is necessary, they are usually returned by the doctor or designee within:
Test results are addressed by the doctor herself with her own personal note to patients. Usually, a triage nurse will make a call to the patient if it is an urgent matter; otherwise, letters are sent out within one week to the patient’s home address.
Our patients can go to any Emergency Room accepted within their health plan. If our patients go to the St. Joseph’s Hospital, the SPSIM will personally care for them in the hospital. If the patients select any other hospital, they will be assigned to a hospitalist at that facility to provide care when in the hospital, and then follow up with their provider in the clinic afterwards.
If medical records need to be transferred, please be sure to fill out a Release of Information either from our office or from your other medical office you will be seeing. Once the form has been obtained, your records will be transferred accordingly. We use Simtek, a copy service, to copy thick charts. This will usually be done every other Wednesday.
Same day appointments are usually available for urgent medical attention, depending on the volume of patients being seen that day. Complete physical exams should be scheduled at least 1 month in advanced to assure a preferred morning appointment as they usually are taken up quickly. Regular appointments are usually available at the patient’s preference. Reminder calls will be made one day before your appointment.
Please call your pharmacy to make a refill request. At that point they will fax us your request.
Please allow 48 hours for your request to be processed. Please do not wait until your last pill to call for a refill.
NOTE: Our on-call doctors do not do narcotic refills after hours on weekdays nor on weekends.
